John A. Yonosik

John A. Yonosik, 88, of Washington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his immediate family, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Donnell House. He was born May 9, 1929, in Tower Hill, PA, the son of the late Albert Yonosik and Mary McKita Yonosik. John was a 1948 graduate of West Beth High School and attended Penn Commercial.He played football and basketball, and was a baseball pitcher at West Beth High School, where he held the record for 105-yard punt return. After high school, he also was a pitcher with the Marianna Cubs Sandlot team. Mr. Yonosik was a U. S. Army veteran, stationed in England during the Korean conflict. John was an electrician for Tristate Engineering, retiring in 1983. He also worked as a custodian for Jefferson Village Apartments, and Seavy’s Electric. He was an altar boy at St. Anne’s in Marianna, and was caregiver for his wife for a long time. He was loyal and loving to her until she passed. John was catholic by faith. On July 1, 1954, he married Barbara E. Seavy, who died January 3, 2017. Surviving are a daughter, Melody L. (Craig) Fujimoto, of Pompano Beach, FL; two brothers, Edward Yonosik, of Marianna, and Robert (Sheryl) Yonosik, of Eastlake, OH; a sister, Margaret Privara, of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Christopher L. (Melanie) D’Alessandro, of Apex, NC, and Gina M. D’Alessandro, of Eighty-Four; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Frank Yonosik, and Steve Yonosik, who died in infancy. Friends will be received Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the time of Blessing Services, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
