John Daniel Saffel, Sr.

John Daniel Saffel, Sr., 79, of Washington, died Friday, July 30, 2021, in Transitions Health Care. He was born December 30, 1941, in Middleborn, West Virginia, a son of the late Clem Saffel and Alice Long Saffel. Mr. Saffel was a painter, maintenance man and “jack of all trades.” He loved his dog, Lady, and enjoyed listing to the scanner, cooking, and playing cards. On June 19, 1968, he married Debra Varner, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, John Daniel Saffel, Jr., of Florida, and Richard Saffel of Washington; three daughters, Suesann Moss, Sandra Dee Saffel and Patricia Ann Saffel, all of Washington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. At the request of the deceased, all services are private.
