John William Rugg, Sr., 67, of Washington, died on May 11, 2022, in his home. He was born on October 3, 1954, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Herbert and Virginia Smith Rugg. A graduate of Turkeyfoot High School, Mr. Rugg was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. He worked as a technician for Hamlin's Automotive in Bridgeville. An aficionado of antique cars, John enjoyed collecting toys and marbles, playing the banjo, and listening to Bluegrass music. On April 23, 2005, he married Debra J. Danley, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John W. (Megan) Rugg, Jr., of Blue Ridge, VA; a stepson, Dr. Christopher (Ania) Castillo, of Abbington, MD; a brother, Herb (Betty) Rugg, of Rockwood, PA; two sisters, Bertha Hale-Cooper, of Frostburg, MD and Betty (Bill) Hartman, of New Bloomfield, PA; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. At the request of the deceased. there will be no public viewing or services.
