John Edward Piatt

John Edward Piatt, 83, of Washington, died May 21, 2021, at Washington Hospital. He was born November 16, 1937, in Waynesburg, the son of the late John O. Piatt and Margaret Smith Church. John was retired from Millcraft Industries and Piatt Machines, where he was a machinist and steel fabricator. John proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post 175 and the Polish Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, dartball, horseshoes, and gardening. On December 22, 1961, John married Betsy C. Elliott, who survives. Also surviving are sons, John D. (Janet) Piatt, of Dayton, TN, David Piatt, of Washington, Michael C. (Michelle), of Washington; daughter, Deborah (Chris) Gray, of Washington; sister, Denise (Tom) Chadwick, of Ninevah; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Piatt; grandson, Joshua Lowery; and son, Matthew Piatt.
