John L. Lyons, 66, of Washington, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Premier Washington Health Center, Chartiers Township, following a six-year illness. He was born June 13, 1958, in Washington, son of Linda Bell Garrett, who survives. John was a 1977 graduate of McGuffey High School. He was a volunteer fireman with South Franklin Township Fire Department and was a member of Knights of Columbus. John was Catholic by faith and a member of St. James Parish. He loved animals, playing Bingo and spending time with friends, family and his friends from church. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a sister, Bobbi (David) Mark; his aunt, Eva Johnson; his uncle, Ronnie Bell; and many cousins. Deceased are his stepfather, William Garrett; his father, John Lyons; his grandmothers, Janet Lyons and Emma Bell; his grandfather, Leonard Bell; his step grandmother, Millie Bell; his aunts, Lois Sinclair, Kathy Bell and Barb Bell; and his uncles, Bill Johnson, Bill Bell and Jim Sinclair. A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Father George Chortos officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, 101 Jolly School Road, Washington, PA 15301.
