John Jubas, Jr., 86, of Washington, died February 12, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 11, 1938, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of the late John Jubas, Sr., and Rose Anna Costante Jubas. Mr. Jubas graduated from Trinity High School in 1956, earned an associate degree in accounting from Penn Commercial, and served in the Air Force. He retired from Washington Steel, where he had worked as a pickle line operator. Mr. Jubas was a member of St. James Parish, Washington Elks Club, and the Polish Club. He loved Aruba and traveled there every year. Mr. Jubas also loved fishing, gardening, the Steelers, and the color red. No matter what was going on in his life, his family always came first. He loved and adored his granddaughters, who were the apple of his eye. On August 29, 1959, he married Sally Abajace in St. Hilary Church. They were high school sweethearts and married for over 64 years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, John Michael (Lee Ann) Jubas; a daughter, Kelly Ann (John) Naddeo; four granddaughters, Sara Ann Jubas, Julia (Joe) Husak, Isabella Ann Naddeo, and Gia Maria Naddeo.; his in-laws include, Mickey (Michelle) Abajace, John (Debbie) Abajace, and Patty Abajace; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Shirley Butka. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, February 19th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m., Tuesday, February 20th, in St. Hilary Church, Washington. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
