John Donly Hiles

John Donly Hiles, 59, of Washington, died December 27, 2023, in his home. He was born November 6, 1964, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of the late Admiral Dewey and Cora Lucille Adams Hiles. John worked as a ship fitter in the Norfolk dockyard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. An avid Steelers and Atlanta Braves fan, he loved Nascar and classic rock. John was the widow of Christy Henson Hiles. Surviving is his son, John Hiles, Jr.; daughters, Megan Davis, and Emily (Caleb) Suits; sister, Cheryl (Paul) Paternite; grandchildren, Emma Davis, Donald Vaughn, and Lilly Suits; cousins, Jodi (Bill) Lawson, Sue Pletcher (Albert P. Gatlin) and Kandi Pletcher; and many nieces and nephews, including Samantha and Allison Lawson. Preceding him in death was a brother, James Hiles, and sister, Cynthia Elam. At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
