John Henry Davis

John Henry Davis, 91, of Washington, died December 26, 2021, in Valley Grove, WV. He was born July 1, 1930, in Short Creek, WV, the son of the late Leroy and Beulah Toland Davis. John was the Township Superintendent – Road Department, for South Franklin Township. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed Bingo and spending time with friends and family. On August 17, 1954, John married Alta Lilley Davis, who died on January 29, 2009. Surviving is a daughter, Shirley Stenger, of Valley Grove, WV; brother, Clyde Davis, of Pleasant Grove; sister, Elsie Schumacher, of Washington; grandchild, Billy (Jess Curtis) Stenger, of Wheeling, WV; and great-grandchildren, Isabella, and Madalynn Stenger, also of Wheeling, WV. Preceding John in death, in addition to his wife and parent, are brothers, Ferris, Randall, Joe, Clarence, Archie, and James Davis, and sister, Sarah Lilley. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, East Finley, PA.
