Jerry Lee Beckner, 58, of Washington, died December 9, 2021, in The Washington Hospital. He was born January 31, 1963, in Washington, a son of William R. “Bill” Beckner of Washington and the late Margaret V. “Peg” Beckner. Mr. Beckner graduated from Washington High School and had worked at Shop N Save and Peppino’s Restaurant. He enjoyed cooking, baseball, and collecting baseball cards and comic books. Mr. Beckner was an Army veteran, serving from October 22, 1981, until his honorable discharge on October 13, 1983. Surviving are his fiancée, Donna Hopkins; two sons, Adam Beckner (Jessica) of Southpointe and Jordan Beckner (Suzanne) of Greensburg; two stepsons, John Hopkins (Leith) of Canonsburg and Joshua “Boo” (Heather) Hopkins of Canonsburg; a brother, Michael Beckner of Washington; a sister, Vicki (Kelly) Ratzlaff of Washington; nine grandchildren, Abigail, Ryland, Raleigh, Sean, Jonathan, Calvin, Chase, Wyatt, and Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his mother, is his twin sister, Judy Beckner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 17th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 18th, with Pastor Dan Lutz officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:00 pm., on Wednesday, December 22nd. Those attending the burial should be at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
