Janie Thomas, 78, of Washington, died Friday, June 2, 2017, in The Washington Hospital. She was born January 16, 1939, in Taylorstown, a daughter of the late Paul and Lyda West Westfall. Mrs. Thomas attended Claysville High School and was a homemaker. She loved her dogs and enjoyed fishing, hunting, crocheting and painting ceramics. In addition, she liked to travel and loved all sports. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Taylorstown Christian Church, and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star. On October 18, 1974, she married Edward Thomas, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Tami (Charles) Rogers of Washington and Tena (James) Harding of Bentleyville; a niece whom she considered a daughter, Kim Teichmann; four brothers, Thomas (Jean) Westfall of Taylorstown, Harold (Phyllis) Westfall of Washington, Eugene Westfall of Florida and James (Helen) Westfall of Washington; a sister, Carol Rothwell of Avella; three grandchildren, Charles (Kristy) Rogers, Jr., Jamie (James) Harding and Jason (Amy) Harding; four great-grandchildren, Cadence Harding, Cooper Harding, Liam Harding and Luke Harding; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a grandson, Justin Daniel Rogers. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 7th. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
