Janice Lynne Nelson, 71, of Washington, died Thursday, January 9, 2020, in UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born September 22, 1948, in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert C. Sampson and Janice R. Foringer Sampson. Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of Trinity High School and worked as a secretary for Western-Southern Insurance for 28 years. She loved her dogs, and enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. On July 21, 1965, she married Walter “Bud” Nelson, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Walter “Bill” Nelson II (Tiffany) of Washington; a daughter, Lynne Morrell of Scenery Hill; a sister, Sherrie King (Johnathan) of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Maura, A.D., Mackenzie, Makalia and Makenna; and a nephew, Johnathan. Deceased is a grandson, Kaleb. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 15th. Burial will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, Canonsburg.
