Janet Edna Rizak

Janet Edna Grover Rizak, of Washington, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, at Woodside Place. She was born on December 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Bernard and Esther Stansberry Grover. Janet loved the Lord with all her heart. She served and worshiped Him faithfully at Central Assembly of God, Houston, PA. She was a Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years and spent many summers being a camp counselor at Sunrise Mountain and Jumonville. She worked at Macy’s for more than 17 years. On June 19, 1971, she married John D. Rizak, III. Together they shared 48 blessed years until his passing in 2019. They enjoyed trips to Amish Country, camping, shopping, dancing, family games, and if you ever met them, you heard the Disney World stories. She is survived by her son in law, Arthur VanBriggle; stepdaughter, Tami DeMarino (Kurt); grandchildren, Jennifer Takash (Jeff), Joel VanBriggle (Gail), Natalie DeMarino Sanchez (Roberto), and Heather Cihal (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Raina Koscho, Lily Vanriper (Josh), Anthony and Emily VanBriggle, Kayla and Cole Takash, Dylan and Carter Sanchez; great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Joy; and beloved niece, Jody (Jerry) Fonner. In addition to her husband, Janet was preceded in death by her only child, Candice Fetty VanBriggle, and her sister Karen Grover Bedillion. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on February 13, 2024, at Central Assembly of God, 155 McGovern Road, Houston, PA 15342. Family and friends will be received from 9-11 am with a service at 11 am with Rev. Kurt Jenkins and Rev. Joel VanBriggle co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Woodside Place at 954 Redstone Road, Washington, PA 15301.
