Jane Davis “Mrs. Po” Popeck, 84, of Washington, died November 25, 2023, in The Washington Hospital. She was born March 23, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Ralph M. Davis and Lois Caldwell Davis. A graduate of Washington High School, Mrs. Popeck worked as a store revisionist for Hallmark Cards and was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. She loved playing cards with her friends, watching the Steelers, painting, bird-watching, deer-watching, and gardening, especially growing roses and flowers. In addition, she loved being involved with the 2000 Turkeys fundraiser and watching Washington High School Sports. Mrs. Po, as she was affectionately known, was the neighborhood mom to many children. On October 10, 1958, she married Edward Charles Popeck, who died May 11, 2017. Surviving are five sons, Edward R. Popeck, John C. (Tracee) Popeck, twins, Robert D. and Richard D. Popeck, and Tony (Michelle) Ellis; a brother, David R. (Carol Jean) Davis; and two grandchildren, Allyson Popeck and Erin Popeck. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 30th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, December 1st, with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 5th. Those attending the burial are asked to meet at the cemetery.
