Jamie Lynn Frazier, 56, of Washington lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born on May 25, 1967, in Washington, the daughter of Robert (Jan) L. Frazier and the late Barbara K. Frazier. She was a graduate of Washington High School and West Liberty University. She devoted her entire 34-year teaching career as a special educator within Washington School District, retiring in June of this year. She loved and inspired her students as the high school life-skills teacher and helped organize the annual life-skills prom, providing students the opportunity to dress up and socialize with peers. The event has expanded to over 15 area high schools with over 250 students participating. In addition to her enthusiasm for teaching and supporting Prexies’ activities, Jamie had a strong passion for summer vacations. She loved the sun, the beach, country music concerts and taking trips with her many girlfriends. She also enjoyed the evenings on her deck playing games and socializing with friends. Jamie is survived by her father, three brothers, John (Milla) Frazier of Goose Creek, SC, James (Tonya) Frazier of New Market, MD, Jeffrey (Samantha) Frazier of Mechanicsburg, PA, and her longtime partner, Larry Boardley. She was the adored Aunt of Brianne, Jordan, Morgan, Leah, Hadley, and Clay. Friends and family are welcome from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A private interment service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Prexie Pals Fund of Washington School District. The fund is used to purchase life-skills prom dresses, tuxedo rentals, and scholarships for pursuing special education degrees.
