James Alvin Stollar Sr.

James Alvin Stollar Sr., 87 of Washington, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was born December 22, 1930, in Washington, the son of the late James Guy Stollar and Florence Miller Stollar. James was a graduate of Trinity High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  While serving in the Marine Corp. in Korea, James received the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Meda and U.N. Service Medal. He worked at Jessop Steel for 38 years as a crane operator/roll turner. James was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles, watching westerns on television and was an avid Steelers fan. He loved spending time with family. On July 16, 1955, he married Wanda Lee Glover, who died November 6, 2005. Surviving are a son, James A. (Darylanne) Stollar Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Darla J. (Wesley) Evans of Washington, Pamela S. Pierce of Washington; seven grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Megan, Tim, Taryn, Erika and Loren; 11 great grandchildren, Kalin, Serena, Juliana, Madison, Alexis, Colin, Olivia, Lily, Jason, Ella and Emma and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are a granddaughter, Kira; great granddaughter, Brenna and a brother, Donald William Stollar. Friends will be received Friday, November 30, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to NephCure Kidney International, 150 S. Warner Rd., #402, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
