James K. Mccoy

James K. McCoy, 73, of Washington, died April 9, 2023, in Transitions Health Care, Washington. He was born August 24, 1949, in Washington, the son of the late John A. and Stella Kendall McCoy. A graduate of Trinity High School, he retired from Superior Valve, where he was a machine operator. Mr. McCoy served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved trains, and was an avid collector of Matchbox and Hot Wheels. James is survived by a daughter, Carrie Ann Carpenter (Scott); a brother, John McCoy (the late Cynthia); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Spring (Jason), Angela Carpenter, and Zacharia Carpenter; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Kenneth McCoy, II, and sister, Dayle Kelley. Family and friends will gather on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, and process to the Washington Cemetery for a 12:45 pm graveside service with Pastor Fred McCloskey officiating.
