James “Pap Jim” William McCombs, 84, of Washington, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Greenery Center in Canonsburg. He was born April 29, 1939, in Washington, a son of the late William James McCombs and Thelma (John) Jones G’Shinsky. Jim attended Trinity High School. He was employed with Tri State Engineering for 20 plus years, until their closing. He later retired from Covenant as a truck driver. He loved being a truck driver and seeing the world, it had always been his dream job. Jim loved the Lord and enjoyed watching Joel Olsteen. He enjoyed sitting on the porch, sipping coffee, and enjoying life. On December 2, 1972, he married his wife, Louise Mae “Kitty” Calvert McCombs, who passed away August 18, 1986. Surviving are a son, James Kevin (Tammy) McCombs of Waynesburg; a daughter, Sharon K. (Keith) Hanna of Washington; seven grandchildren, Kenneth (Bern) Long of Massachusetts, Keith Long of Pennsylvania, Matthew (Ashley) McCombs of Maryland, Brittney Beckett of Waynesburg, Jamie Barney of Washington, Eric (Sami) Hanna Jr. of Washington and Angel (Ed) Hanna of Washington; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins. Deceased are three great-grandchildren, Amiah Jaylee Hanna, Kobe Anthony Long and Nevaeh Angel Sheets. A celebration of life and inurnment will be held in Forest Lawn Gardens at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to William G.
