James Robert Holden

James “Jim” Robert Holden, 71, of Claysville, died December 29, 2021, in his home. He was born October 3, 1950, in Washington, the son of the late Claude Wright Holden Jr. and Viola Pletcher Holden. Jim graduated from Trinity High School and was co-owner/operator of Gladden Trucking, where he was a dispatcher and truck driver. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Washington, Moose Lodge, Washington, and Taylorstown Legion. Jim enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows. He loved to fish off the dock while vacationing in Florida. Mostly, he loved spending time with friends and family. Jim proudly served his country in the US Army. Military Honors will be accorded by Claysville American Legion. On August 2, 1997, Jim married Mary Lou Blayney, who survives. Also surviving is daughter, Michelle (Tom Miklavic) Holden; sons, Jim Holden, Scott (Karen) Snyder, Ray (Toni) Snyder, Dean (Brenda) Snyder; sisters, Charlotte (Dave) Resek, Judy (Terry) Tyhonas, Cheryl (Doug) Staggers; grandchildren, Josh (Shelby), Dustin, Martina, and Torri Snyder; great-grandchild, Brynn Snyder; special nieces, Katie (Travis) Martin, Kory (Dillon) Durilla, and great nephew, Wyatt Durila ; and several other nieces and nephews. Preceding Jim in death was his sister Mary Jane Holden. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where the service will be held Thursday, January 6, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Taylorstown American Legion, in Jim's memory.
