James Russell “Jim” Dillie, Jr., 47, of Washington, died Sunday, November 1, 2020. He was born October 17, 1973, in Washington, a son of Evelyn Ellis Whipkey of Richeyville and the late James Russell Dillie, Sr. Mr. Dillie worked for Alliance Coal, Consol Energy and RG Johnson. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, watching movies, gardening, woodworking, vacationing, and boating. Mr. Dillie adored his granddaughter, Ellie, loved his dogs, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was Episcopalian by faith. On March 2, 2001, he married Dana Briggs, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Roc Dabney and James Russell Dillie III, both of Washington, two daughters, Marina Dillie of Miami, Florida, and Evelyn Dillie of Burgettstown; a brother, Justin (Edwena) Whipkey of Richeyville; a half-brother, Lance (Jenny) Dillie of Bettendorf, Iowa; two sisters, Tina Gray (David Anderson) of Washington and Cassandra Whipkey (Robert Lees IV) of Belle Vernon; his beloved granddaughter, Ellie; his stepfather, Charles Whipkey; several nieces and nephews; and cousins, Kim, Christie, Keith and Brian Ellis, as well as several additional cousins. At the request of the deceased, all services are private.
