Jack Allen Gump, aged 91, was embraced by the arms of eternity on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the tender sanctuary of Washington Hospital. Born on October 23, 1932, in Washington, Jack was a beloved son of late Rex Gump and Viola Gordon, their legacy of love and kindness shining through him. Jack's journey was illuminated by his attendance at Washington High School and his dedicated service at Washington Steel, where his warmth and dedication touched many hearts. His spirit soared as he gallantly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, a testament to his unwavering patriotism. A cherished member of the American Legion Post 175 in Washington, Jack's camaraderie knew no bounds. Jack dedicated himself to serving as an usher and deacon at Faith United Presbyterian Church, offering comfort and compassion to all those he encountered. In the embrace of nature, Jack found solace and joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and exploring the majestic wonders of National and State Parks. He enjoyed sports, but loved most to cheer on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Guided by a sense of duty, Jack volunteered as a firefighter with the North Franklin Township, demonstrating his selflessness and commitment to his community. On January 16, 1953, Jack embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship as he exchanged vows with his cherished Ethel Gump, whose enduring love remains a beacon of light. Jack's legacy is etched in the hearts of his devoted son, Jack Gump Jr. (Beth), his cherished daughter, Karen (Dorian) Seibel, grandchildren Hannah Gump (Jared), Dorian (Lyndsay) Seibel, Madison Gump (Jessie), Jacob Gump, and Cole (Morgan) Seibel; great-grandchildren Marina Seibel and expecting baby girl and baby boy Seibel. In the tapestry of Jack's life, he is reunited in love with his beloved parents, Rex and Viola, and his dear siblings, Kenneth, Richard, Shirley, and Barbara, whose spirits dance together in eternal embrace. Family and friends are invited to honor Jack's radiant spirit during visitation hours from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with the gentle guidance of Reverend Eric Powell. Jack's earthly journey will conclude with a sacred burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
