Irene Jane Kurdy

Irene Jane Kurdy, 94, formerly of Washington, died July 9, 2021, at her home, in North Fort Worth, TX She was born September 20, 1926, in Washington, the daughter of the late George and Sophie Cwierz Rocks. Irene graduated from Jefferson High School and retired from JCPenney. She loved bowling on local leagues, crossword puzzles, yodeling, and reading novels. Irene loved the Lord, she was President of the Women’s Ministry and Missionettes at Central Assembly of God, Houston, PA. Irene was the wife of Bruno Kurdy, who died October 11, 1972. Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters, Linda Giacchetto (Sam), Nancy Martin (Danny), Cathy Duncan (Dan), Luann Vaccaro (Jay), Judy Shuttlesworth (Tiff); brother Thomas Rocks (Sandi); grandchildren Jeff Giacchetto, Jennifer Passarelli, Melissa Young, Michael Duffy, Ryan Martin, Tom Martin, Philip Valdez, George Valdez, Katie Mendoza, Patsy Vaccaro, Lesa Cala, Jordan Ilarraza, Jonathan Shuttlesworth, and Jessica Gesualdi; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by siblings Mary Ann Fodor, Kay Adams, William Rocks, and David Rocks. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, 10:00 -11:00 a.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Interment to follow in Washington Cemetery.
