Ingrid Hannelore Kerr, 81, of Washington, died peacefully Thursday, March 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ingrid was born August 5, 1942, in Erding, Germany, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Maria Eurssels. After coming to the United State, she worked as a cashier at several local establishments, with her last being Gabby Market. Ingrid was a member of Liberty Chapel Church and The Alpine club and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. Ingrid enjoyed gardening, crocheting blankets and slippers for family and friends, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On February 8, 1964, she married the love of her life, Edward James Kerr, who died May 21, 2023. Ingrid is survived by a daughter, Judith Kerr-Connor (Matt) of Rimersburg; two sons, Denver (Jennifer) Kerr of Washington and William (Gina) Kerr of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Donovan (Andrew) Stellavato, Joseph, Gabrielle and Alex Connor, Danielle (Garrett) Conaway, Zachary and Patrick (Heather) Kerr, Denver Kerr II and Mackenzie (Michael) Angeli; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert, and a sister, Renate, both of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a daughter, Michelle (Herzi) Kerr, and five brothers all from Germany, Theo, Richard, Ludwig (Waggi) Thomas and Artur. Friends and family will be received Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m., in William G. Neal funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Laura Saffel officiating. Burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held privately at a later date.
