Howard H. Teegarden

Howard H. Teegarden, 81, of Washington, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 2, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late George Teegarden and Ruth Anne Robinson Teegarden. Howard was a graduate of McGuffey High School. At the time of his death, he was employed by Meadows Casino and Racetrack, as an equipment operator. He had been employed at the casino and racetrack for nearly 25 years. Howard was a farmer and horseman, and had Teegarden racing stable, for many years. He loved horses, the casino, and his family. Surviving are his daughters, Lori (Brian) Hackney, Jodi (Mark) Phillips, Hiedi Dempster and Ami Gatts; his grandchildren, Lisa (Will) McKean, Jack (Candice) Dillie, Joel (Brittany) Phillips, Breann (Josh) Huff, Dakota Gatts and Jordan Phillips; his great-grandchildren, Tucker Phillips, Jayden Phillips, Willow Phillips and Ella Dillie; his brother, Robert (Peg) Teegarden; his sisters, Audrey Sims, Doris Hallermiere and Janet (the late Jim) Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Deceased are his granddaughter, Cassandra Hackney; his brother, Richard Teegarden; and his sister, Wilma “Jean” Sensky. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024, and 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Monday, December 2, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Jonathan Taplin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
