Hazel I. Crawford, 87, of Washington, died on December 18, 2020, in the Donnell House. She was born on November 27, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Harold and Lena Wurtzer Johnson. A graduate of Trinity High School, Hazel attended Laboratory Presbyterian Church. From 1977 until 1995, she worked at Thomas Campbell Christian Center. A loving and very classy lady, Hazel was loved by everyone who met her, and was extremely generous, often to a fault. She was known to be spunky, with a great sense of humor, and a strong faith in the Lord. Mrs. Crawford brightened people’s day by sending them uplifting cards. She enjoyed going to movies, but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family. On September 11, 1954, she married Edgar E. Thompson, who died on August 18, 1977. On June 14, 1980, she married Charles L. Crawford, who died on June 2, 1998. Surviving are two daughters, Janet Snoke, of Avella, and Rebecca Thompson, of Washington; a son, Bruce (Debbie) Thompson, Sr., of Jacksonville, FL; a stepdaughter, Alice Crawford Heather, of Washington; five grandchildren, Brian (Toni) Snoke, of Avella, Philip (Ellen) Snoke, of Muse, Stephen Snoke, of Midway, Bruce (Shawnie) Thompson, Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, and Chantel (Brandon) Williams, of Jacksonville, FL; two step grandchildren, Joseph Heather, and Amy (Brandon Baum) Heather, both of Washington; six great grandchildren, Ava, McKinley, Waylon, and Roman Snoke, Kaylah Williams, and Kairi Baum; and a sister, Shirley Taylor. Deceased are a sister, Margaret (Ed) Ptaszek; two brothers, Harold (Barb) Johnson, and Clyde (Marlyn) Johnson; a brother-in-law, Jack Taylor; and a son-in-law, Howard Snoke.
