Elaine Chadwick

H. Elaine Chadwick, 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Donnell House. Elaine was born in Washington, on May 31, 1937, daughter of the late Harry M. and Thelma A. Sampson. After years of dedicated service, Elaine retired from Ball Glass Factory. She was also a member of the Friendship Community Church. Elaine’s greatest joy was spending time with family. She also enjoyed watching the Pirates and game shows, as well as cooking, baking, and reading religious stories. Elaine married Duane L. Chadwick on February 14, 1953, and later divorced. She raised her four children: Duane (Lori) Chadwick of Washington, Janet Chadwick (Gene) Bailey of Washington, Joyce Chadwick of Washington, and Linda Crowe (deceased). Also surviving are five grandchildren, Nathan Chadwick, Justin (Kandyce) Chadwick, Lisa (Chris) Yoders, Daysha (Kyle) Love, and Nicole Crowe; four sisters, Marlene (James) Webb, Zelda (Paul) Jefferies, Shirley Jankowski, and Ola Jackson; one brother, Howard (late-Kitty) Sampson; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Shawn Chadwick, Damian Chadwick, and Ryan Phillips. Friends will be received on Monday, January 29, 2024, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, with a service on Tuesday, January 30, at 11am with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
