Hayward Louis Detrick, 90, of Washington, formerly of Weirton, West Virginia, died April 29, 2022, in Premier Health Center, Washington. He was born November 14, 1931, in Richeyville, a son of the late Webster and Caroline Detrick. Mr. Detrick was retired from Drankenfeld, where he had worked for many years, and was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Prosperity. During the Korean War, he served in the Army for two years, earning a National Defense Service Medal. His wife, Helen Gibbs Detrick, died in 2009. Surviving are a son, Colin (Anthony) Detrick of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Jamie A. (Gary) Cottrell of Claysville and Tammy (Ashley) Deskins of Coffey, Missouri; a brother, Glenn Detrick of Ohio; a sister, Vivian Harvey of Arizona; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Tom Detrick, and several brothers and sisters. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service. Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
