Harold Edwin Poland, Jr., 88, of Washington, died Thursday, March 18, 2021, in his home. He was born July 21, 1932 in Washington, the son of the late Harold Edwin and Lavina Cole Poland. Harold retired from Brockway Glass where he was a forklift driver in the shipping / receiving department. After retiring, he worked as a security guard at Washington Steel. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and water skiing. On September 29, 1950, Harold married Shirley Mae Boardley, who died February 16, 2021. Surviving are sons, Tommy Edwin Poland and Harold Jasper Poland, both of Washington; sister, Dorothy Poland Whiteman of Washington; cousin, Sally Levers (Arthur) Hay of Washington; brother-in-law, Randy Joe Boardley of Washington; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. He leaves behind his beloved pets, Princess the Pitbull, Spotty the Chihiahua, and Bootsy the cat. Harold was predeceased by his sister Margaret Poland Randolph, and his Labrador Retriever, Baby Girl. Harold was a veteran, serving his country in the Army from 1950-1953. All services are private.
