Gertrude Pavlik, 93, of Washington, passed away peacefully, September 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, in Bridgeville Rehabilitation & Care Center. She was born September 18, 1928, in Canonsburg, the daughter of Michael and Mary Kukis Turco. Gertrude attended Canon-McMillan High School and was a manager at Simmons Farm Market for 36 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and an avid reader. Gertrude loved spending time with friends and family and just being around people. Gertrude is survived by her daughters, Celeste Falvo, and Cindy (Dave) Bentrem; grandchildren, Joshua (Donna) Falvo, Jason Falvo, Kara Martin, Joshua (Juree) Bentrem; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Dylan, and Derek Falvo, Adria, and Brooks Martin, and Wyatt Rose Bentrem. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pavlik, who passed away June 3, 2016, as well as a daughter, Christine Pavlik, who passed away September 18, 2021; a sister, Virginia Kane; and a brother, Richard Turco. Family and friends will be received Monday, September 19, 2022, 4:00 – 8:00 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 10:00 am with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
