Dr. George John Kupar, 61, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2024. Born on February 27, 1963, in Washington, George was the beloved son of the late George Kupar Jr. and Gertrude Saveikis Kupar. George's life was marked by numerous academic and professional achievements. A graduate of Trinity High School, he pursued the medical field by studying at Washington and Jefferson College and Temple University, where he earned his degree in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. George practiced podiatry for decades, earning the respect and gratitude of every patient he worked with. Faith was an integral part of George’s life, and he was an active member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church. Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, George relished several hobbies. He loved traveling to new places, exploring breweries, getting lost in the pages of a good book, gardening, running, bicycling, and enjoying the arts at theaters and concerts. George leaves behind his loving partner, David Smith. He is also survived by his dear sister, Karen (Kevin) Zumpetta; his nieces and nephews, Christopher (Jamie) and Alexandra Zumpetta; his great-nephew, August James Zumpetta; his aunt and uncle, Norris and Janice Baldwin (his Godmother). George was strongly connected to many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Fawn Schooley and Joann Standish for their unwavering support, care, and compassion for George. Memorial visitation will be held in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, on Friday, June 28th, from 9:30 till 11:30 a.m., the time of a funeral service, with Father Stephen J. Wahal officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Washington County Humane Society.
