George Hamilton

George J. Hamilton, 80, of Burgettstown, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born February 29, 1944, in Williamsport, a son of the late George W. and Catherine R. Pepperman Hamilton. George had worked as a laborer for Morris Township and other construction companies. He was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church in Burgettstown. Where he served the church helping with various activities. George loved animals, especially dogs and chickens. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and helping others. He loved watching westerns, driving his tractor and deer hunting. Surviving are a son, George (Jolene) Hamilton Jr.; two grandsons, Josiah and Giuseppe, and a great-granddaughter, Shirley. Two brothers, Joseph Hamilton, David Hamilton; two sisters, Shirley Selders, and Mary Albright; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by four brothers, John “Pete”, Donald, LeRoy, and William Hamilton; and three sisters, Betty Yarison, Joyce Hamilton, and Alice Tubbs. Arrangements and services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
