George Edward Gilmore, Jr.

George Edward Gilmore, Jr., 91, of Washington, died November 17, 2022, in the Donnell House. He was born August 3, 1931, in Lone Pine, the son of the late George Edward and Romaine Sylvia Kelly Gilmore. George attended Trinity High School and worked as a bartender at Normaine Hotel for many years. His past times included drawing, coin collecting, and going to dog and horse races. He also loved to watch Western movies on tv. George was dedicated to the care of his former mother-in-law, Olga Curci. He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle and her husband Anthony Cappetta; and a sister Dolores Durbin. George was preceded in death by his brother Walter Reed Gilmore. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a Blessing and Committal Service at 3:00 p.m. with Father Tom Lewandowsky officiating. Inurnment in the Washington Cemetery Mausoleum will be private and at a later date.
