Gary “Scott” Kee, 58, of Washington passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at UPMC Montefiore. He was born on June 13, 1962 in Station Hospital, US Naval Station, Subic Bay, Philippine Islands. He was the son of Evelyn “Lucki” Reed who resided with him since relocating to Washington in 2008. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary S. Kee who died in 1990. He graduated from Forest Hills High School, Sidman, PA in 1980. He then continued his education, graduating from Penn State University in 1985, majoring in mining engineering. He retired in 2015 from Consol Energy with more than 30 years of service. Scott was an avid sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed his alma mater, Penn State, football games and tailgating with many friends. He was also an avid golf enthusiast. Over the years, he enjoyed golf outings with many friends, his weekly Wednesday afternoon tee time with “the guys” and his annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Florida with his “golfing buddies”, his monthly Thursday night dinner outing with the Consol “retiree gang.” What was most precious to Scott was spending time with his family. He looked forward to family vacations at the beach and just being together with the people that meant the most to him. Following his retirement in 2015, along with golf, he enjoyed fishing and kayaking. He said the water gave him a sense of peace. To those who knew Scott, you know he had a very generous heart, was always willing to lend a helping hand and prided himself to help those in need. He will be sadly missed by those who loved him. Scott is survived by his mother Evelyn “Lucki” Reed of Washington; sons Christopher and significant other, Valarie Jasper of Charlotte, NC, and Jonathan of Washington; daughter Elisabeth and son-in-law Jonas Leveque of Bouvron, France; sister Stephanie, wife of Ronald Snedden of Washington; nephew Derek Partsch and significant other, Bethany Peracchino; niece Brittany Snedden and significant other, Patrick Palmer. Scott was a member of St. James parish (formerly Immaculate Conception Church) in Washington. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to ALL of the caring and compassionate “teams” at UPMC Liver Center for the excellent care Scott received during his illness. Especially his “fan club” on 7 West. He was truly thankful, grateful, and blessed to know each and every one of you. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Greenbriar Outpatient Treatment Center in Washington or Washington City Mission in memory of Scott. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
