Gale Ann Keener, 87, of Washington, passed away February 22, 2023, in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living, Washington. She was born May 6, 1935, in Washington, the daughter of the late James Conn and Mary Kuhn. Gale attended Washington High School, had a real estate license, was a notary, worked at several banks and car dealerships in the area, and finally at the SPHS Care Center. She was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church and the Elks Club, Washington. Gale enjoyed ceramics and stained glass, so much so that she taught them to others. She loved to shop and cook for her family, especially for the holidays, hosting every holiday. On October 15, 1951, Gale married Donald L. Keener, Sr., who died April 15, 2008. Surviving is a son, Donald (Michele) Keener, Jr., of Claysville; a sister, Judy (Ed) Breedlove, of Washington; a brother, Mike (Becky) Markley, of Washington; grandchildren, Kina Keener, Korey Keener, Kressa (Butch) Dunn, Timothy Keener, Jr. (Natalie); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Katherine, Scarlette, and Leonidas; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. Gale was preceded in death by her son, Timothy W. Keener, Sr. At the request of the family, all services are private.
