Frank Angott, Jr.

September 5, 1936 — May 3, 2024

Frank Angott Jr., born September 5, 1936, to Frank Joseph and Mary Zulkos Angott in Washington, passed away on May 3, 2024. He was husband to Janet Shives Angott who passed away on October 24, 2019. One of five children and always a Trinity Hiller, Frank graduated in 1954. Frank had four children, Frank E. Angott, Timothy S. (Mary) Angott, Kathy M. (Dale) Leech and Vicki L. (Bill) Dietrich. He was a devout Christian man of faith and a member of Waterdam Church in McMurray. Many years of his life were spent in service to God and the church. He had a long-lasting friendship and very special Christian bond with Pastor Andy Cobucci. The family thanks Pastor Andy for that friendship. As a younger man, Frank played drums in an orchestra for many years. He was a member of the Alpine Club, where he loved bowling. He enjoyed carpentry, which he helped to build many houses in the Washington area. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Buccos fan. The phrase “never met a stranger type of guy “describes Frank exactly. He would make friends with anyone. After his retirement from McGraw Edison, he loved going on cruises with his family and friends, which included Alaska, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Hawaii. Many great memories were made which he talked about often. He spent many days visiting nursing home residents throughout Washington County. He was very proud to be the nephew of boxer Sammy Angott, World Lightweight Champion in 1940. Frank had seven grandchildren, Emily Yocum, Kyle Yocum, Kory (Kendra) Yocum, Nicole (Brandon) Ansell, Ashley Angott, Kevin Yocum and Isabella Angott; and 10 great-grandchildren. He had a wonderful bond with his granddaughter, Nicole, and a great appreciation for his “Granddog,” Riley. Surviving is a brother, Robert Angott, of Florida. Deceased are a brother, Sam Angott and two sisters, Dolores McBratney and Julie Blose. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Home, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, with Pastor Dan Finnell officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hawthrone Woods Assisted Living for their wonderful care and love. During his stay, he was voted “Homecoming King” and “Most Stubborn” (those who knew Frank would understand this). Also, thank you to the Gateway Hospice nurses and staff who were a blessing. A special thank you to Michelle Neff and Renee Wise, who cared for Frank while he was at home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Waterdam Church, 208 Galley Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317. The family will deeply miss our beloved Frank, but receive great comfort in knowing that he is in this better place called heaven. Heaven, where Frank has heard Jesus welcome him in. Heaven, where we will meet again.
