Frank Amon Jr., 86, of Washington, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, in his home. He was born September 12, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late Frank Amon Sr. and Margaret Nicholson Amon. Frank retired from Precision Marshall Steel after 32 years. He was a member of the Moose Club in Washington. Frank loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending the holidays with his family. He enjoyed cooking and eating, doing yard work, gardening and watching westerns and old movies. His dog, Charlie, was his best friend and loyal companion. Surviving are four sons, Robert William (Shannon) Amon of Richeyville, Frank Joseph Amon of Simsbury, Connecticut, James Michael Amon of Richeyville, and Douglas Brian (Amy) Amon of Lamar, South Carolina; two brothers, Donald (Joan) Amon and John (Shirley) Amon; 11 grandchildren, Gwen, Joe, Jeremy, Bobby, Max, Dani, Ben, Matthew, Luke, Jocelyn and Dominic; and five great-grandchildren, Scott, Brandon, Riley, Connor and Zach. Deceased are two sisters, Delores Malloy and Barbara Ann Amon, and a grandson, Douglas Brian Amon. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, August 31, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Don Amon officiating. Burial will be held in Washington Cemetery at a later date.
