Frances Anna Prowitt Wise, 95, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, in Strabane Woods, Washington, Pennsylvania. She was born August 28, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of the late Andrew Milton and Frances Anna Miller Prowitt. On July 28, 1951, she married the late Russell Alvin Wise. Frances was a 1950 graduate of Trinity High School. She devoted her life to making a home for her family. Frances was a lifetime member of Grace Brethren Church, where she devoted her time as a Sunday School teacher. She worked outside the home as a radio technician at RCA. She was also a member of the Amity Grange. She loved bowling, puzzles, and playing Bingo. She also was a good gardener and excellent at canning. She was a champion crocheter and knitter, having won First place at the fair. She is survived by a son, Darrell L. (Darlene) Wise; a daughter, Darlene F. McKahan; sister Helen Brown; brother Nathan Prowitt; grandchildren Matthew David (Belinda) Wise, Heather (Tony) Bruhn, Clint Swihart, Audrey Swihart, Stephanie Crawford, Christopher Wise, Richard McKahan, and Tony McKahan; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are sons David Russell Wise and Daniel Wise; daughter Dianna Lynn Swihart; sister Loretta Kurfis; and brothers Thomas Prowitt and Louis Prowitt. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday August 21, 2024, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Amity Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lower Ten Mile, 653 Amity Ridge Road, Amity, PA 15311.
