Forda Reagan White, 83, of Washington, formerly of Hickory, passed away July 3, 2023. She was born on August 27, 1939, in Canonsburg, the youngest daughter of the late Helen (Papanek) Reagan and the late Ford Reagan. After graduation from Canonsburg High School in 1957, Forda worked for Joy Manufacturing, in Pittsburgh, as a secretary. On April 24, 1960, she married the late James A. White, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and moved to his family’s dairy farm in Mount Pleasant Township. The couple had three children and were happily married for almost 51 years, until Jim’s death. During Forda’s busy years of caring for her family, she still found time to volunteer. She served as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader and was also a leader for 4-H. She worked part-time at JC Penney and Ionics, and retired from Hickory Family Practice, where she was a receptionist. Mrs. White loved to cook and was loved by all who enjoyed a delicious meal at her table. But her greatest joy was her family. She was close to her sisters, the late Greta Alauzen and the late Joanne Benefiel. She is survived by her son, J. Dennis White, of Hickory; daughters, Linda Hicks (Peter), of Colleyville, TX, and Mary Beth White, of Canonsburg. She was a doting grandmother to Jordan, Evan, and Tristan Hicks, and Allison and Amanda White. How happy she was to be a grandma. She leaves behind many nephews and nieces, whom she loved. Donations may be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301. Family and friends will be received Friday, July 7, 2023, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 8th, 10 am, in St. Hilary Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, Washington, with Father Ed Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
