On Thursday, January 28, 2021, Floyd “Tom” Wood, 74, of Washington, joined the love of his life in Heaven following a brief battle with COVID. Tom was born August 30, 1946, in Washington, and was the only child of the late Lois and Floyd Wood Sr. A proud veteran, he joined the army at the age of 20 and fought in Vietnam as a tank commander. He married the love of his life, Alice Wood, on April 8, 1986, who died on March 1, 2018. He is survived by his cousin, Brenda (Ken); niece, Jackie (Pat); three sons, Mike, Kevin (Terri), and Ken (Andrea); and a “daughter,” Shannon (Mike) of Bethel Park. He is further survived by numerous close family friends; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Tom was a proud supporter of veterans throughout his life and volunteered at Washington Hospital as a greeter and the Veteran’s Cemetery in his retirement. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Washington Hospital Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services are private.
