Florence Lee Cowden Masteller, 90, of Pittsburgh, died January 21, 2022, in UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh. She was born October 5, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late R. Thompson and Mina E. Rumbaugh Cowden. Florence was a 1949 graduate of Trinity High School, and a 1950 graduate of Penn Commercial. She served her country in the United States Air Force from 1951 until her honorable discharge in 1954, with the rank of Airman First Class. For her service, she was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Florence was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank, Pittsburgh, where she worked for 36 years. She loved driving to spend time with family and attending Bible Study. She attended Northgate Church, McKnight Road, Pittsburgh. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Masteller, who died in 1998; four brothers, Robert, Wayne, Ernest, and Paul; and two sisters, Virginia and Nova. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, 168 Park Ave., Washington, PA 15301. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a brief service at 3 pm, with Pastor Jesse Boggs officiating.
