Evelyn L. Gallo

Evelyn L. Gallo, 87, of Washington, died Monday, December 9, 2024, in UPMC-Washington. She was born February 19, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late John A. Reihner, Sr. and Catherine A. Friend Reihner. Mrs. Gallo graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1955, and worked for 16 ½ years at Brockway Glass. She gave generously to many charities, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going to the casino, cooking for her family, watching EWTN everyday, and sitting on her porch enjoying the view. Very faith forward, Mrs. Gallo was a member of St. Hilary Church of St. James Parish, where she loved to attend mass at every opportunity. On November 19, 1955, she married James Gallo, who died April 16, 2015. Surviving are two sons, Anthony (Vicki) Gallo of California and Joseph Gallo of Washington; two daughters, Jackie (Ed) Chester of Washington and Tina (Michael) Craig of Shippensburg; two sisters, Mary Toward of New Mexico and Jean Comfort of Washington; eight grandchildren, Annette Chester, Thomas (Kelly) Chester, Kirah (Justin) Hoachlander, Julia Gallo, Katy Gallo, Nicholas (Diana) Gallo, Jaime Gallo, and Cassidy Pantaloni; six great-grandchildren, Evelyn Hoachlander, Elise Hoachlander, Tasso Makripodis, Ella Chester, Ethan Chester and Alessia Gallo; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, James Gallo, Jr.; a sister, Sally Fumera; and three brothers, Fred Reihner, John Reihner, Jr., and John “Jack” Reihner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, with Father Michael Peck officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Parish/St. Hilary Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, PA 15301.
