Ethel Joan Roberts

Ethel Joan Roberts, 74, of Washington, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, in her home.

She was born on September 2, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of the late Ray Gilbert Noble, Sr. and Virginia L. Roupe Noble.

Ethel attended Trinity High School and had worked at International Paper for many years. She was a faithful member of Abundant Life Baptist Church.

Ethel had many hobbies, including trout fishing, cooking, baking, and playing bingo. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

On November 8, 1967, she married Eddie Eugene Roberts, who died on December 30, 1999.

She is survived by a son, Eddie E. Roberts, Jr.; a daughter, Jodi L. Chapman (Corey); a brother, Ray Noble, Jr. (Rosemarie); a sister, Sally Noble-Forgues (Norman); four grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Alex, and Cynthia; and a brother-in-law, Wesley Williams.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Williams.

Family and friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 on Friday, March 28, 2025. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Abundant Life Baptist Church, 269 Cameron Road, Washington, PA 15301.
