Esther Ethelynn Sanders

Esther “Ethelynn” Sanders passed away on May 31, 2023, at Golden Heights Personal Care Home in Irwin, Pennsylvania. She was born January 8, 1923, in Washington, the daughter of the late Roman and Esther Johnson Cooper. She was married June 23, 1953, to Alonzo Sanders who passed away on October 14, 2017. Ethelynn is survived by a brother Roland Cooper, Sr, along with many nieces and nephews, who loved their Aunt Babe, as they all called her. She was preceded in death by siblings: Edward Lynn Cooper, Marie Cooper Irwin, Austin Cooper, Sr., Regina Cooper Fleming, and Thelma Ruth Cooper. Ethelynn was a faithful member of the Washington PA Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years and most recently Greensburg PA Congregation. She was baptized August 9, 1953. Her preaching work about God’s Kingdom, taking care of all mankind’s problems, was very important to her. She loved to cook (especially her pies), garden, travel and being with family. She will be missed. At the request of the deceased, all services are private.
