Esther Elizabeth Davidson, 90, of Washington, died peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s-dementia. She was born on November 14, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of the late Gust and Agnes Sten Davidson. Esther was a 1945 graduate of Trinity High School. Ms. Davidson worked at S.A. Myers Jewelry, the Washington Hospital, and then at Lang’s Fashion, before retiring. A lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church, Esther had a deep faith that she drew great strength from. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. A kind and generous person, Esther enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, and all sports, including hockey, football, and baseball. Surviving are a sister, Joann Schultz, of Scenery Hill; a brother, Alfred Davidson, of Bristow, VA; a sister-in-law, Vicki Butka; six nieces and nephews, Cindy McCain, Dawn Moody, Gary Davidson, Kurt and Kris Schultz, and Kara Jurovcik; and several beloved great nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Carl and Donald Davidson, two sisters, Agnes and Adela Davidson, a brother-in-law, Arleigh Schultz, and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Shirley Davidson. Friends will be received on Monday, October 23, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, with Rev. Robert Grewe officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
