Ernest Wayne Laposta

Ernest “Wayne” LaPosta, 76, of Canton Township, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Washington Hospital. He was born August 23, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Ernest LaPosta and Rebecca Hunter LaPosta. Wayne was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a PVT-1st Class in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. Wayne worked at Dynamet as a lab tester for the titanium industry. He was a Catholic in faith. Wayne was a jokester at heart and loved to have fun with his adored grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the Meadows to play the Slots, and loved all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers. On May 22, 1971, Wayne married his beloved wife, Janet Hrabcsak, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jamie (Lance) Knox; two grandchildren, Aidan and Dylan Knox; a brother, Clayton (Chris) LaPosta; a brother-in-law, David (Roseanne) Hrabcsak; and a sister-in-law, Lynn (Tom) Casciola. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. All funeral arrangements will be private and have been entrusted into the care of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue.
