Erma Jean Breese Thomas, 92, of Moundsville, West Virginia, formerly of Claysville, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, in her home. She was born January 9, 1926, in Prosperity, a daughter of Leroy W. and Sylvia Rutan Breese. Mrs. Thomas attended Joint and Lagonda Grade Schools and graduated from Morris Township High School in 1943. She was a member of Blainesburg Bible Church. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker who enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sewing, needlework, gardening and scrapbooking. She researched her ancestry back to the Mayflower and was a member of the Mayflower Society. On February 15, 1947, in Bethel Presbyterian Church, she married Floyd D. Thomas, who died December 12, 1998. Surviving are two sons, Floyd D. (Dorothy) Thomas, Jr., of Canonsburg, and Wayne Lee (Ellen) Thomas of Abingdon, Virginia; two daughters, Marilyn J. Thomas of Moundsville, West Virginia, and Ruth Ann (Frank) Menhart, of Washington; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her sisters, Doris Breese, Eldon Day, Donna Eisiminger and Louise Crosbie. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16th, in Blainesburg Bible Church, 104 Fourth Blvd., Brownsville, PA 15417.
