Emma Jean Loughry, 98, of Washington, died February 17, 2022, in Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born February 13, 1924, in Washington, the daughter of the late David M. and Mary Margaret Lawrence Canan. Emma worked as a clerk in a grocery store for 25 years. She was Protestant by faith. Emma enjoyed shopping, baking, gardening, and listening to Elvis music. She collected porcelain and Cabbage Patch dolls. She loved spending time with her friends and family. On February 18, 1944, Emma married Samuel Loughry, who died September 24, 1993. Surviving is a son, William Charles Loughry, of Washington; daughter, Barbara Jean (Paul) Dillie, of Reynoldsburg, OH; sister, Evelyn Wood, of Washington; grandchildren, William M. (Jamie) Loughry, of Canonsburg, April (Sam) Adkins, of Siler City, NC, Shannon (Mike) Markley, of Washington, Cassie (Robert) Allison, of Canonsburg; great-great children, Billy, Heather, Austin, Shane, Caedon, Olivia, Beckham, Megan, Rachael, and Colin; and many nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her brothers, David Lee and Robert Canan; and sisters, Delores Haynes, and Peggy Adamiak. Family and friends will be received Monday, February 21, 2022, from 11 am until 1pm, the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Followed by burial in North Buffalo Cemetery.
