Emma “Dolly” Lapp, passed away peacefully at her home in Eighty-Four, PA, Saturday, October 2, 2021, after a long fight with Parkinson’s. She was born December 10, 1942, as Emma Helbig, to the late David and Myrtle Kohlmeyer Helbig in Venetia, PA. She attended Trinity School District, but graduated from Lorain High School, Lorain, OH. Dolly worked briefly as a secretary and switchboard operator at law offices in Cleveland, OH, before becoming a full-time domestic engineer, aka homemaker. Dolly was an avid pie baker, and she enjoyed needle point, square dancing, playing games (sometimes until the middle of the night), family vacations, family get togethers, and family reunions. Her gentle demeanor, quick wit and loving nature will be immensely missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Lapp; her children, James (Amy) Lapp Jr., of Washington, and Barbara Litman (Tom Antonovich), of Eighty-Four, PA; brothers, David Helbig (the late Lorraine), of Sebring Fl, Raymond (Toni) Helbig, of Seigel, PA, Robert (Sandra) Helbig, of Huron, OH, and William (Anita) Helbig, of Avon Park, FL; grandchildren, Kayrah Lapp, of Morgantown, WV, and Timothy Lapp, of California, PA. There will be a funeral service Thursday, October 7, those wanting to pay their final respects may meet at the funeral home at 1pm.The procession will depart the funeral home at 2pm for a service in the chapel at Woodruff Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ken Barner officiating.
