Elsie May Lyle, 86, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Canonsburg Hospital. She was born December 24, 1934, Aleppo Township in Greene County, the daughter of the late James Arthur and Sarah “Arabelle” Dains Hull. She graduated from Richhill Township High School. She retired as a Head Cashier of Interstate Foodland after 20 years. She was a member of Friendship Community Church and loved sewing, quilting, baking, scrapbooking, journaling, growing and tending to her flowers. At Christmas, she often sewed bags for Navajo Indian children as part of the Taggart Ministry. On June 12, 1955, she married Eugene E. “Ernie” Lyle, who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are sons Gene (Amalia) Lyle of Honesdale, PA, and Donald M. (Susan Pring Lyle) Lyle of Warren, PA; sisters, Vivian (the late Robert) Blair of Columbus, OH and Ellen (the late Rev. Elwood) Daugherty of WV; grandchildren, Brad Rudolph, Sarah (Jeremiah) Padilla, Mary (Shaine) Lepley, Justin (Kaitlyn) Lyle, and Josalyn Lyle; and great-grandson David and several nieces and nephews. Elsie is predeceased by daughter Lila Sue Lyle; son David Arthur Lyle; grandson, David Franklin Lyle and sister Ruth Chambers. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00am in Washington Cemetery with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.
