Elsie M. Dean, 88, of Washington, died on February 3, 2022, in her home, surrounded by family. She was born on December 30, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late James Rocco and Lillian Bedillion (Bill) Drylie. A graduate of Washington High School, Elsie was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Dean had worked as an operator and engineering clerk for Bell South. Elsie was an avid reader, but her greatest joy was her family, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On August 17, 1953, she married the love of her life, George L. Dean, who survives. Also surviving are three children, George Keith Dean, of Washington, Kathi (Ken) Jennings, of Washington, and Kirk A. (the late Robin "Renee") Dean, of Washington; eight grandchildren, Kristin (Jason) Mellinger, Rachael (Lina) Dean, Alisha (Charlie) McGowan, Brittany (Jake) Varner, Aaron (Laura) Jennings, Patrick (Shianne) Jennings, Jeremy (Chrissy) Dean, and Kinsey Dean; Four step-grandchildren, Keegan McGowan, Brogan McGowan, Zephan McGowan, and Brannigan McGowan; and seventeen great grandchildren, Eziekel, Fiona, Jonathan, Stella, Cannon, Parker, Carter, Kylynn, Brynlee, Blakeley, Jaxton, Brael, Shelby, Daphne, Shade, Blu, and Kola. The family would like to express their gratitude to the team members at Gateway Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Elsie, and her family, during this difficult time. Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA., with Pastor Sue Petritis officiating.
