Elizabeth J. “Betty” Sutts Johnson, 78, of Washington, formerly of Bentleyville, gently passed into heaven on May 8, 2017, in Washington Health Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 7, 1939, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Frank F. and Anna Mae Gerba Sutts. Elizabeth graduated from Monongahela High School, in 1957. She was a homemaker who always put others first and was invaluable in helping raise her grandchildren. Whether making a craft, watching a storm roll in, looking for birds or bugs, or providing a favorite snack, she seemed to always have a lesson to teach. In addition to spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed plants and flowers, reading, crossword puzzles and “her stories.” On August 3, 1957, she married the late Morris R. Johnson. She will be sadly missed but forever loved by her three surviving daughters, Debra L. Lytton (Larry) of Claysville, Deanna Coughenour (Mark) of Washington and Dawn M. Johnson (Brian DeFabbo) of Vestaburg; six grandchildren, Adam, Carrie, and Jennifer Lytton, Tanner Coughenour, Chelsea Sutch and Ryan Fereza; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Evelyn, and Nolan Fuller; Thor and Aela Lytton and Ayriana Sutch; twin brothers, Frank Sutts (Mary Jane) of Finleyville and Ernest Sutts (Joanne) of Monongahela; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Deceased are an infant daughter, Cathryn Elizabeth Johnson, and a sister, Shirley A. Watsula. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of Elizabeth’s favorite charities: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Washington Area Humane Society, P.O.
